UNIKUM is a universal water-based binder suitable for mixing with powder pigments or ALEGRO color concentrate for creating various coatings for wood, mineral substrates, glass, etc.

It can also be used independently as a UV-resistant coating for wood, stone, concrete, and other mineral substrates. It deeply hardens porous wooden and mineral surfaces. It excellently binds and hardens fibers (textiles, cellulose, mineral fibers). Unikum is characterized by a 150% stretch.

APPLICATION:

Transparent coatings:

Unikum is applied with a brush on a clean, dry surface. If the application does not absorb after a few minutes, dilute the coating with water. If necessary, dilute up to a ratio of Unikum : water 1:3 or even 1:5. The drying speed depends on the temperature and air humidity. At 20°C and 50% relative air humidity, the film is dust dry after 20-30 minutes. For deep hardening, dry for 2-3 days. Spraying application is also possible. It is usually applied in 2-3 layers. The previous layer must be completely dry before applying the next one.

Colored coatings:

The pigment is first moistened with water to create a thick paste. This paste is gradually mixed with 10-25% UNIKUM. Care should be taken to avoid the formation of air bubbles or foam during mixing. If bubbles do form, it is recommended to add 0.5% ANTIPENILCA S. The most suitable for tinting Unikum are ALEGRO pigment pastes.
